The report is the product of a law passed during last summer’s special legislative session, which mandates the TBI compile an annual report of human trafficking in the state. The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition supported it, and the group told The Tennessee Star the new report justifies its work.
“We are very proud of the work we did for Special Session with the General Assembly and Governor Lee that resulted in the law that requires this annual report. The previous report had not been conducted in over a decade,” said the group’s board in a statement to The Star.
“As we’ve said many times, we support our Jewish brothers and sisters both here at home and abroad. As Christians and as human beings it is our duty to do so. The nation of Israel is our strongest ally in the Middle East and the United States must stand by our ally,” Aaron Gulbransen, executive director of the Tennessee Faith & Freedom Coalition, told The Daily Wire in a statement.
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, pushed for the legislation that led to the report and said this first report should open the door to more comprehensive reports.
“This report is a great start and we’ve always viewed this as a baseline and subsequent reports will demonstrate the progress being made as new legislation over the next session is enacted,” the group said in a statement. “Our takeaway is that it shows an unfortunate spike in child trafficking. It also demonstrates what we knew from the start, that TBI needs additional resources pertaining to data collection and additional agents.”
Our Jewish brethren have been the most hunted people in the history of the world, even prior to the Holocaust. Mere words, again, do not do this justice, but our observation is that the October 7th attacks and blatant antisemitism on display in far too many corners of the world seems to have brought out the somber melancholy of a people who are not far removed from the Holocaust.
Our Jewish brothers and sisters need our loud support. It is not only our Christian duty, but we believe it is the duty of all human beings.
We’ll never apologize for our support of Israel and our Jewish brothers & sisters around the world.
To our Jewish friends, we declare that we are with you. We declare that Never Again is now and we call on everyone to join us in the pledge, with words and deeds.
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition (TNFFC) also applauded the Court’s ruling, calling it a “massive victory for children and the rule of law” as well as a “massive rebuff to those that would seek to mutilate children and shred the laws of the state of Tennessee.”
“Jonathan Skrmetti and his team won this massive victory for children and Tennessee. We have nothing but the highest regard and praise for him and his team. This is not the first victory that General Skrmetti and team have won and given the diligence of that office, we expect many more to come,” the TNFFC added. “This victory underscores the importance of the Office of Attorney General. Attorney General Skrmetti and his team are shining examples of diligent and effective stewards of the defense of Tennessee, its laws, and the Constitution. Tennessee is truly blessed to have that office in such capable hands.”
“TNFFC condemns the evil statements and social media posts by Marxist groups like Middle Tennessee Democratic Socialists of America, Black Lives Matter, the national Democratic Socialists of America, mocking, making light of, or outright cheering on the evils committed against Israelis and Americans by the disgusting terrorist group Hamas,” the group said.
Mentioning the Middle Tennessee Democratic Socialists of America’s “evil” rally in support of Palestine planned for Saturday in Nashville, TNFFC added, “We condemn these groups, period.”
“These groups, allies, leadership, and membership have at times referred to conservatives, Christians, former President Donald Trump, the nation of Israel, Tennessee conservative legislators, and others some variation of “literally Hitler” or “Nazis”. These groups and individuals supporting and using antisemitic rhetoric in light of the evil Iran-backed Hamas terrorist attacks, and in general, should consult a mirror. Upon doing so, they will find “literally Hitler” looking back at them,” TNFFC continued.
“The Biden Administration, unhappy with Tennessee’s status as perhaps the most Pro-Child state in the country, is continuing its war on Tennessee’s sovereignty by sending previously denied Title X funds to Planned Parenthood,” the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition said in a statement. “It is also egregious to note that the Biden Administration ignores and enables the evil history and practices of Planned Parenthood by giving them more taxpayer dollars, as their founder Margaret Sanger demonstrated in her writings and speeches, as evidenced in their targeting of minority communities, and their sick practices involving the tissue of dead children.”
One of the most tragic aspects of human trafficking in the U.S. is that many of the victims are children who often experience physical and sexual abuse. “Here in Tennessee, a child is bought or sold for human trafficking every two minutes. Human trafficking is amongst us. It is in our communities. It occurs very often less than one from mile from where we live, and very near to where our children sleep and play. Most of the cases are Tennesseans who are being trafficked by drug-addicted family members.”
A group of Tennessee Republicans declared their intention to eradicate human trafficking in the state at a Tuesday press conference during a hotly contested special session that has received national attention.
The press conference, put on by the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, a conservative advocacy group, featured over a dozen Tennessee Republicans from both the state House and Senate and took place in the state’s old Supreme Court chamber in Nashville. The conference came as Left-leaning protesters showed up at the capitol this week to push for gun control.
“
“If you’re engaging in child and human sex trafficking in Tennessee, we’re coming after you. We’re going to war with you,” Senate Majority Leader Johnson said.
The bill, introduced by House Majority Leader William Lamberth (R-Portland) (pictured above), would require the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to “submit a report on child and human trafficking crimes and trends in this state, based upon data available to the bureau, as well as current programs and activities of the bureau’s human trafficking unit, to the governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the speaker of the senate by December 1, 2023, and by each December 1 thereafter.”
“Today was another victory in the lengthy, ongoing quest to eradicate child and human trafficking, modern-day slavery, in the state of Tennessee,” the TNFFC said in a statement. “We are grateful to the Tennessee House of Representatives for their approval of HB7041/SB7088 for Special Session today.”
Earlier in the day, the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition held a press conference with lawmakers about the bill.
“I’m proud to stand here in common purpose with my colleagues in the General Assembly, as well as folks from the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition,” said Johnson. “I’ll tell you that in the short time they’ve activated their Tennessee chapter, they’ve made a significant difference in helping advance good, conservative policy, and I’m so proud to be working alongside them as we tackle this scourge in our society today.”
“You know, the problem with child and human sex trafficking is that it’s not a far away problem” Johnson said. “It’s something that’s in our communities right under our noses. It’s near where our children are sleeping and playing and going to school. In the United States, according to the TBI, on average every two minutes a child is bought or sold for sex. Human trafficking is a $150 billion a year industry, and it occurs in all 95 of our counties.”
Tennessee U.S. Representative Andy Ogles joined other lawmakers in Nashville Tuesday afternoon in a promise to “fight like hell” against human trafficking.
Ogles and members of the Tennessee General Assembly joined the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition to “declare war on the modern-day slavery of child and human trafficking and the renewed mutual quest to save children and women.” The press conference came on day two of the special legislative session tackling public safety.
In a recent press conference held in Nashville, Tennessee, a coalition of Republican representatives voiced their commitment to combatting human trafficking within the state. This announcement was made during a special session that has garnered significant national attention.
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, a prominent conservative advocacy group, organized the press conference. It was attended by numerous Republican members from both the state House and Senate. The event was held in the historic Supreme Court chamber in Nashville and coincided with protests at the capitol by left-leaning groups advocating for gun control.
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition (TNFFC) Board of Directors released a statement applauding a bill filed by Tennessee House Minority Leader William Lamberth (R-Portland) which addresses child and human trafficking.
Lamberth’s bill, HB7041, would require the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to “submit a report on child and human trafficking crimes and trends in this state, based upon data available to the bureau, as well as current programs and activities of the bureau’s human trafficking unit, to the governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the speaker of the senate by December 1, 2023, and by each December 1 thereafter.”
The TNFFC Board of Directors said the group was “thankful” for Lamberth’s sponsorship of the bill, adding, “Leader Lamberth is a powerful friend and ally to children in the state of Tennessee and we applaud his leadership in our mutual quest to eradicate the modern-day slavery of child and human trafficking in our state. He is a thoughtful and conservative leader. We are proud to work with him on this issue fighting FOR children and women.”
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, a conservative policy and advocacy group, has previously urged Lee to cancel the special session and has vocally opposed red flag laws. In a statement following Lee’s proclamation, they pointed to aspects of the proclamation that would deal with human trafficking.
“As we’ve noted before, while noting certain areas of disagreement on certain other issues, we’ve had very productive meetings with Governor Lee and his staff on this issue, making a mutual commitment to work together in the furtherance of destroying child and human trafficking,” a statement from the group said.
The Sound of Freedom is, as we say in church, the milk that a new believer will drink. Now is the time to get to the meat.
The meat of the issue of modern-day slavery can be a bit tough to swallow. The meat of the issue of child and human trafficking is that it exists right here in our own communities.
Modern day slavery exists among us, near where our children sleep and play. It is not a faraway problem that exists a thousand miles away in another country or just at the border.
It is not a problem that will be fixed just by securing the U.S. Southern border. While it is vital for a zillion other reasons that we are not discussing right here to secure the U.S. Southern border, doing so to address this issue is merely a great starting point.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, in the United States, on average, every two minutes, a child is bought or sold for sex.
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition released a lengthy statement to The Tennessee Star Tuesday afternoon after a far-left gun control group directed its supporters to protest an event where the nonprofit’s Williamson County chapter will focus on eradicating human trafficking in the Volunteer State.
The Marxist Left, dedicated to undermining the liberties, traditions, and values that make America unique and exceptional, is waging a war on children – both born and unborn – in the United States and even right here in Tennessee.
Mr. Ramaswamy and Ms. Owens were joined by Aaron Spradlin, chairman of the Board of Faith and Freedom Coalition in Tennessee; and Aaron Gulbransen, director of the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, each of whom spoke to the importance of transparency and the need to learn from the tragedy.
Mr. Gulbransen expressed strong support for releasing the manifesto, calling it crucial for understanding the motivations behind the tragedy.
He said while the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition does not “endorse individuals in presidential primaries,” they do “endorse truth and endorse freedom."
“Firstly, the Nashville Metro Benefits Board to NOT give insurance coverage for transgender mutilation surgeries on city workers is one of the few things that Metro Nashville government has done recently that we agree with. Taxpayer funds have no business being used to cover transgender mutilation surgeries,” Aaron Gulbransen, the executive director of the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition, said in a statement given to The Daily Wire.
“Secondly, with regards to the sour grapes complaint, it is extremely disgusting to attack a board member’s vote on the basis of her faith. Furthermore, it is a blatant attack on the board member’s 1st Amendment free speech and freedom of religion rights. We hope that the ethics board considering the complaint understands and respects those two facts — and reacts accordingly. If they don’t, they would be trampling on the Constitution,” he added.
The threat was condemned by conservative groups in the Volunteer State, including the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition.
“No one should be threatened with death for doing their job and Leahy is doing his job with the public interest in mind. No one should be threatened with death for a differing point of view or just because they are a conservative like Leahy,” the group said in a statement. “This situation is a prime example of the kind [of] insanity and potential for violence that is common amongst the Marxist Left. One can simply look back to 2020 in order to see the mass violence that the Marxists perpetrated here in Nashville and all over the country.”
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition and country music artist John Rich both objected to the legislation and Aug. 21 special session.
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition (TNFFC) Board of Directors met with Governor Bill Lee on Monday and discussed multiple issues facing the Volunteer State, including the upcoming special legislative session next month.
The group added in its Monday statement, “We also firmly communicated our opposition to anything resembling a Red Flag Law and our belief that the Tennessee General Assembly stands with us regarding that issue.”
The Tennessee Faith & Freedom Coalition (TNFFC) released a statement Saturday responding to a piece published by Rolling Stone magazine reviewing the newly-released movie Sound of Freedom.
The magazine’s piece, titled, “‘Sound Of Freedom’ Is a Superhero Movie for Dads With Brainworms,” describes the film as a “QAnon-tinged thriller about child-trafficking..designed to appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.”
“No one should be threatened with death for doing their job and Leahy is doing his job with the public interest in mind,” a statement from the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition said. “No one should be threatened with death for a differing point of view or just because they are a conservative like Leahy.”
The group said it is important to know the shooter’s motivations and the writings should be released as the policy debate continues over red flag laws heading into a planned Aug. 21 Tennessee Legislature special session on public safety, expected to be called by Gov. Bill Lee.
“In this specific case, we are praying that the individual who sent the email receives the harshest punishment available under the law and that Michael Patrick Leahy and family are safe,” the group said.
Lee met with the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition on Monday, stating its opposition to any red flag law.
“Governor Lee personally listened to our concerns about the August Special Session of the Tennessee General Assembly,” the group said in a statement. “We do continue to have grave concerns about public safety during the special session due to previously reported threats and planning by Marxists. We appreciate the fact that Governor Lee listened to our concerns.”
The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition and country music artist John Rich both objected to the legislation and Aug. 21 special session.
The Faith and Freedom Coalition wrote to Lee, asking for him to cancel the special session and wait until January’s regular session to consider new legislation.
"The Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition has been perhaps the leading voice in our state wholeheartedly opposing red flag, ERPO (extreme risk protection order), or any similar legislation that restricts constitutional rights," the board of directors of the Tennessee Faith and Freedom Coalition told Newsweek in a written statement. "Not only are such laws unconstitutional, from a practical standpoint, they simply don't work."
The group added that, "Tennesseans don't need nor want red flag laws. In fact, Tennesseans won't stand for it."
“In response to our letter asking Governor Lee to cancel plans for an August Special Session of the Tennessee General Assembly due to public safety concerns as well as constitutional concerns, Chief of Staff Joseph Williams emailed us and requested a meeting with our Board of Directors. We took him up on that offer and on Wednesday, had a meeting with Chief of Staff Williams and Lee Administration Special Advisor Michael Hendrix,” the TNFFC disclosed in a Friday statement emailed to The Tennessee Star.
